Bridal Blueprint was founded by me, Meghan Malooly, following my graduation from UC Riverside with a degree in Public Policy. During the quarantine, I re-discovered my passion for wedding/event planning and coordinating quickly developing the skills to execute beautiful customized events that my clients have always dreamed of. Thats when I opened my planning and coordinating business, Paper Heart Concierge Services.
We help with everything from venue selection and vendor management to invitation design and coordination on the day of your wedding/event. We combine our expertise with your vision and passion to deliver a uniquely tailored experience.
After being in the industry for a few years, I started to notice a rise of the use of D.I.Y. (do it yourself) elements at events. Brides and grooms have gotten so creative over the years, loving to showcase their success across all social media. With so many of my clients wanting to go the D.I.Y. route I wanted them to be able to have a wedding that looked like it was done by a professional, but at an affordable price and thats where Bridal Blueprint comes in.
I came up with the idea in the fall of 2023, when I was helping a family that I met through the community philanthropic organization I run, Sierra Madre Gives Back. I needed to know some very specific answers involving our state laws but could not afford a lawyer just to get those answers. I of course googled my questions, but when it is something that important I don't like to rely on anything if I am not 100% sure that I trust the source.
Through my research I came across a website that allowed me to speak to a verified lawyer at a very affordable cost. That got me thinking, "What if there was a service like this, but for brides/grooms and anyone else throwing an event?" It would be a step above the varied and sometimes outdated responses found through a generic search engine, but also a step below paying for a planner.
Being a planner/coordinator myself, I know one of the biggest problems D.I.Y. clients have, is costs exceeding their expectations. With the coordinator being one of the last vendors to be paid, in full, for, we are the ones they usually come to either asking if we could augment the price we already agreed on, or by taking away the amount of time we have for setup/cleanup and the amount of staff working the event. No matter how this situation plays out, someone ends up unhappy.
If the planner agrees to make any changes to the price, staff or hours needed at the wedding, they may feel frustrated that they now have to compromise their standards to keep their clients happy. If they stand their ground and insist on needing what had already been decided on they risk unhappy clients who just might be upset enough to post harsh comments online ruining their professional reputation.
By using Bridal Blueprint my hope is that with the money they save by not only using D.I.Y. elements but by using the guidance of our weddings experts, they can invest in a day of coordinator which would be the topper on the cake for a budget-friendly wedding to look, run and feel like it was professionally done with an unlimited budget.
